Lecture # 3 Present Simple Tense

1. Present Simple Tense

Present Simple Tense is used:
- For the action that takes place in Present.
- To express Habits
- To express Universal Truth or Fact.

Affirmative Structure:
Subject + Main Verb (1st Form) + Object

Verb Modification:
He, She, It, Name  > "Verb with s / es"
I, You, They, We > "Same Verb"

Affirmative:

For Instance;
1. He plays Football.
2. She watches T.V.
3. Waqar eats Mango.
4. I drink water.
5. You take a Tea.
6. They visit Sehwan Sharif
7. We drive Benz.

Auxiliary (Helping) Verb:
He, She, It, Name > "Does"
I, You, They, We > "Do"

We can make Interrogative, Negative, and Interrogative Negative with the help of these Helping / Auxiliary Verbs.

Interrogative ( To ask question):

For Instance;
1. does he play Football?
2. does she watch T.V?
3. does Waqar eat Mango?
4. do i drink water?
5. do you take a Tea?
6. do they visit Sehwan Sharif?
7. do we drive Benz?

# "s/es" will be removed in making interrogative / negative or interrogative negative sentences.

Negative ( To negate):

For Instance;
1. He does not play Football.
2. She does not watch T.V.
3. Waqar does not eat Mango.
4. I do not drink water.
5. You do not take a Tea.
6. They do not visit Sehwan Sharif
7. We do not drive Benz.

# We can use following abbreviations:
don't = do not
doesn't = does not

Interrogative Negative ( To ask question while negating):

For Instance;
1. does he not play Football?
2. does she not watch T.V?
3. does Waqar not eat Mango?
4. do i not drink water?
5. do you not take a Tea?
6. do they not visit Sehwan Sharif?
7. do we not drive Benz?

Question Mark "?" is mandatory in order to make questions.
