6. Past Continuous Tense
Past Continuous Tense is used:
- For the action that continued in past.
Affirmative Structure:
Subject + Auxiliary (Helping) Verb + Main Verb (ing Form) + Object
Auxiliary Verb:
He, She, It, Name, I > "Was"
You, They, We > "Were"
Affirmative:
For Instance;
1. He was playing Football.
2. She was watching T.V.
3. Urooba was eating Mango.
4. I was drinking water.
5. You were taking a Tea.
6. They were visiting Sehwan Sharif.
7. We are driving Benz.
Auxiliary (Helping) Verb:
He, She, It, Name, I > "Was"
You, They, We > "Were"
We can make Interrogative, Negative, and Interrogative Negative with the help of these Helping / Auxiliary Verbs.
Interrogative ( To ask question):
For Instance;
1. Was he playing Football?
2. was she watching T.V?
3. was Urooba eating Mango?
4. Was i drinking water?
5. Were you taking a Tea?
6. Were they visiting Sehwan Sharif?
7. Were we driving Benz?
For Instance;
1. He was not playing Football.
2. She was not watching T.V.
3. Urooba was not eating Mango.
4. I was not drinking water.
5. You were not taking a Tea.
6. They were not visiting Sehwan Sharif.
7. We were not driving Benz.
wasn't = was not
weren't = were not
Interrogative Negative ( To ask question while negating):
For Instance;
1. Was he not playing Football?
2. Was she not watching T.V?
3. Was Urooba not eating Mango?
4. Was i not drinking water?
5. Were you not taking a Tea?
6. Were they not visiting Sehwan Sharif?
7. Were we not driving Benz?
